The Rugby World Championship 2011
The World Rugby Championship played in 2011 was the seventh in a row. The RBI has assigned New Zealand an organization ahead of South Africa and Japan. The three best reprints from each group from the 2007 World Cup were provided with direct participation, as well as semi-finalists from South Africa, England, Argentina, France, then quarter-finalists from Australia, Fiji, and Scotland, and the third in groups: Ireland, Italy, Tonga. Eight teams took part in the squad, which were Japan, Namibia, Romania, Georgia, Russia, Samoa, Canada, and the United States. Russia was a debutant. New Zealand was expected to have all four victories in the group stage and a maximum of 20 points, in the derby group they beat France 37:17, and the French won completely the Tonga 19:17 and thus made the biggest surprise at the championship.
England had all four victories in Group B, Argentina took second place and Scotland third. In the derby of the English group they beat Argentine with 13: 9. An exciting match was played between England and Scotland, with England winning by 16:12. Totally unexpected, Ireland was the winner of Group C and left Australia behind (getting 15: 6), so for the first time in history, Australia did not win the first place in the group. The current champion South Africa achieved all four victories in Group D. The second place in the same group was Wales, while Samoa was the third. In the Group D derby, South Africa defeated Wales at 17:16. In the quarter-finals of the planetary championship, the medal winners finished the competition. The current world champion, South Africa, was defeated by Australia with 11: 9, the current vice champion England lost to France at 19:12, and bronze from France, Argentina, was defeated by New Zealand with 33:10. Ireland, which was surprisingly the first in Group D, was exempt from further competition in the quarter-final, because it was defeated by Wales 22:10.
New Zealand won Australia in the semifinals of the World Cup with 20: 6, while France defeated Wales 9: 8 in a match that marked Warburton's Red Card. Australia defeated the Wales team at 21:18 in the match for the bronze medal. In the grand finale at Eden Park in Auckland, All Blacks and the French came together, who made a real achievement after the defeat of Tonge in the group stage, and the same teams played in the group stage. There was a trench battle for every centimeter of the field, and each the team scored one essay. New Zealanders took tryem Woodcock in the 15th minute (5: 0), but there was no conversion. The legendary fly half All Blacksa Carter spent earlier, so that he literally jumped from Donald fishing, only after being hurt by both Cruden and Slade, and increased the advantage of the host at 8: 0. Trih-Duc tried to reduce the gap in the halftime, but failed. Soon after, the response from the French, which a minute later reached try and conversion, through Dusautoir, was turned into Trinh Duc. who later had the opportunity to lead Galskoye Pilots out of the penalty, but failed.
By the end of the match, there were chances on both sides, but the defense worked well. New Zealand, eventually led by the legendary flanker and captain Richie McCaw, won 8: 7 and won the title of the world champions for the second time. For the third time, the organizer of the competition was a champion. It happened in New Zealand in 1987 and in South Africa in 1995. The best shooter was a half-Springbok Steyn fleet, and most of the essays were scored by England and France Ashton and Clerc after 6.
